If you're helping

For a helper. Get in, or set the house up for them, then add things, say what you'd love, and decide together.

Last updated October 13, 2026

You’re helping the person passing things on. You can do everything they can, except remove them or archive the house. And you’re family too, so you can say what you would love.

Your invitation email has a button, Open Save Me That. Tap it, then tap Continue, and you’re in.

Or sign in with the code: in a browser, open savemethat.com and tap I have a code from an email. In the iPhone app, tap Sign in. Type your email, tap I have a code from an email, and type the code from the invitation.

The code in the invitation works for 7 days. If it ran out, ask the person passing things on to send you a new one.

Open savemethat.com and tap Set up a house. Type the house’s name and the name the family calls the person passing things on, and tap Next.

Tap the second answer, the one that says you’re helping, with their name in it. Type your name and email. Type their email too if they use it, or leave it empty. Then tap Create the house, and type the code we email you.

Left their email empty? You can add it any time, on their page in Family and helpers, or give them their invite code.

Home shows one card with the most useful thing to do now, as it does for the person passing things on. The cards are on Home’s next step.

One card is only for helpers: You haven’t looked at 3 things yet. Helpers count when Home says everyone has answered, so those things wait for your answer. Tap the button, like “Look at 3 things”.

At the bottom you have Home, Look, Add, Decide and Things. Look is where you say what you would love.

Tap Look at the bottom. You see one photo at a time. Tap Save me that on anything you would love, Not for me if you don’t want it, or Later if you’re not sure.

Or swipe the photo: right for Save me that, left for Not for me, up for Later. What the family sees, step by step, is on Look.

Tap Add at the bottom and add things the same way: see Add your things.

On Home, tap Send the family the link. The message is ready, in the name of the person passing things on: send it to the family’s group chat. Family and helpers and Who has answered work just as they do for the person passing things on.

Tap Decide at the bottom. Ready is what is ready to decide. Still waiting is what the family is still answering, each with Decide now.

Whichever of you decides a thing, it is decided. The family reads every decision as made by the person passing things on. Every step is on Decide who gets what.

The question Tell people as you go, or all at once at the end? is asked once for the house, of whoever decides first.

On Home, tap Family and helpers, tap your own name, then Stop being a helper. You stay in the house, and keep anything saved for you.
