Who sees what

Who sees what you asked for, what happens when two people want the same thing, and how the app chooses fairly.

Last updated October 13, 2026

Only the person passing things on, and anyone helping them. The rest of the family doesn’t see who asked for what.

Once a thing is decided and shared, everyone in the house can see in Things who it was saved for.

What happens when two people want the same thing?

Section titled “What happens when two people want the same thing?”

The person passing things on chooses who gets it, or taps Let the app choose fairly. Each person who asked is told what was decided.

It chooses one of the people who asked at random, like pulling a name out of a hat, and everyone in the draw has the same chance. For several of a thing, it puts them in a random order and goes down the list.

Everyone who asked sees it was drawn fairly. The whole of how it works is at savemethat.com/fairness.
